What We Believe

WE BELIEVE the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, infallible, and God’s revealed Word to man.

WE BELIEVE that Scripture teaches that there is only one true and living God, the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; John 14:21-26)

WE BELIEVE that God the Father is greater than all; the Source of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter. (John 1:14; 14:28; 16:28)

WE BELIEVE that The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; 1:14; 1:18)

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal ((John 15:26)

WE BELIEVE in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the son of man, that He came to save man from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as an atonement and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35; John 3:16; 1Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

WE BELIEVE that man is a sinful being in need of redemption. Man was created good and upright for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”. However, through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin (spiritual death) came into the world resulting in separation of mankind from God, ” – – – all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God”. Jesus Christ, the virgin born Son of God, came to earth, gave His life and shed His innocent blood to redeem and restore man back to God.(Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29;John 6:44; Romans 3:20-23, 5:12-21; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 2:8; 1 John 3:8)

WE BELIEVE that for salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (Luke 7:50, 24:47; Romans 10:13-15; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 2:15; Ephesians 2:8,9; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7).

WE BELIEVE that man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth is available to all mankind; and when Jesus Christ is accepted as Savior, salvation takes place. He is born again. His Spirit becomes alive to God eternally. (2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5)

WE BELIEVE the Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit the acts and attributes of an intelligent being, and that the works of God such as creation, inspiration, giving of life, and sanctification are also ascribed to the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2; Job 33:4; Mark 3:29; John 16:8,13; Acts 7:51, 10:19, 13:2, 13:4, 16:6; 1 Corinthians 1:11, 6:11, 12; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 1:21

WE BELIEVE that the baptism in the Holy Ghost is for all believers, and that we should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire. The baptism in the Holy Ghost is a free gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the Experience of the new birth (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:4).

WE BELIEVE that the baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance(Acts 2:4).

WE BELIEVE in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life, as the Bible declares “Be ye Holy, for I am Holy”. We also believe that the scriptures teach, that “without Holiness no man can see the Lord”. We believe in the doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the return of Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:5; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 2:12,13; 3:12-14; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 5:23; Hebrews 12:14; 2 Peter 3:18; 1 John 2:29)

WE BELIEVE in divine healing and that healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and it is the privilege of every member of the church today. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24)

WE BELIEVE in the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Angels said, ” – – this same Jesus shall so come in like manner – – “. When He comes, “the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air”.(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

WE BELIEVE that the one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire; and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or for repentance. The lake of fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in noting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God(Hebrews 9:27)
